St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes is one of the first places I took pictures in my photography career and holds a special place in my heart. There are several different areas that offer a variety of different backgrounds to a gallery.
Grassy Clearing
Located behind the main chapel, this grassy clearing is the perfect place for a picnic, or other photo props. This clearing offers the soft grass with a background of eucalyptus trees with soft light coming through during the day.
Eucalyptus Grove
With a beautiful view of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, The eucalyptus grove varies throughout the year from a sea of wild flowers to a wide open forest with crunchy fall brush under-foot. With open spaces, ivy covered walls or a forest of green leaves, the eucalyptus grove offers a large variety all its own!
European Courtyard
Saint Francis offers an amazingly beautiful brick courtyard that brings us to old world Europe. The beautiful brick courtyard is adjacent to one of the first chapels built in Palos Verdes. The architecture is inspired by a European landscape. With an enclosed space for children to run, a wishing well, and large chapel doors, this space is a vision of old world romance.
